Jasmine loved the Conformation ring, but loathed Obedience trials. As soon as the leash came off, she would exit the ring at a full gallop and head for the car. I finally decided to forget about turning her into an Obedience Champion and she was thrilled to leave the obedience ring behind. 

She had a personality all her own. You never knew when this huge Collie would come flying through the air and land in your lap. Everyone learned to just prepare for the impact. Her favorite place to visit was the beach. She could sit and watch the waves for hours, and always made it her special duty to herd the children away from the water.

Just before her 6th birthday, she developed a bladder infection that just didn't seem to be responding to antibiotics. After doing some extensive blood tests, her veterinarian discovered an irregularity and proceeded with x-rays. Unfortunately, they showed what he had suspected. Jasmine had extensive cancer. She deteriorated very quickly, and 2 weeks later, I made the decision to let her cross over to the Rainbow Bridge. The day before our last trip to the vet, I drove her to the Pacific Ocean, carried her down to the beach and we watched the waves come and go until sunset. Everyone who knew her remembers with extreme fondness the sweet-natured Collie, who loved all she met.
