  CH. Kelly's Kaman

  5/2/92 to 9/11/06

Kaman was the foundation sire for my smaller Aussies. I met Kaman when I was looking for a red merle male to breed to my red tri female Annie. My goal was to produce a performance red merle female. Unfortunately. I didn't care for any of the larger male Aussies that were available for stud. My retired performance dog, Alex, was 18", and all the studs I encountered were much larger than I wanted. When I expressed my disappointment to a breeder, he mentioned a smaller Aussie stud that he thought I might be interested in. I was interested, so I made a phone call to Kaman's owner, Tami Kelly, and drove to meet Kaman.
I fell in love immediately with this feisty, independent, little dog. He was the perfect stud for my girl, so I proceeded with the breeding to Annie, hoping for my girl. Fate decided to intervene, and my Annie gave me 7 beautiful male puppies! When Tami called to ask me about the pups, I mentioned that I was a bit disappointed about not getting my girl. Surprisingly, she asked if I would like to adopt Kaman. I was thrilled. Kaman came to live with me and it was a perfect match. It wasn't until later that I realized what a truly wonderful gift Tami Kelly had given me. Kaman was a very loving, gentle dog, who has produced some amazing offspring. He had a character all his own and could be quite the escape artist when he set his mind to it. Thank you Tami! I will be forever grateful for the opportunity I had to share my life with such an amazing little guy.
